Apple & cinnamon turnovers
Recipe by2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped into small chunks
2 / 3 sheets puff pastry
2 tbsp plain flour
2 tbsp soft brown sugar
1 - 2 tsp cinnamon or to taste
2 tbsp water
1 egg, beaten
Prep. Time → 20 min
Cook Time → 20 min
1. Preheat oven to 200 C / 400 F / Gas 6.
2. Put the apples in a bowl with the water, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Mix well.
3. Cut the pastry sheets in half diagonally. Share the apple filling out equally in the centre of each pastry half.
4. Brush egg around the edges to stick the pastry together. Prick the pastry with a fork and brush lightly with egg.
5. Bake for 20 mins until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
6. Dust with icing sugar, if desired. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream
