Beer Bread of Rhoda Rutherford - Recipefy

750ml self raising flour
1Tp sugar
10g (one packet) instant dry yeast
5ml sage (or any fresh herbs)
2ml white pepper
1 beer (340ml)
90g butter
1t salt

Prep. Time → 20 min

Cook Time → 35 min

1. Preheat the oven to 180 C
Grease and flour a bread tin.

2. Mix all the dry ingredients in a nice big bowl. For the herbs, i pick what ever i have in the garden, but dried works just as well as long as u use a bit more. Chose a flavour to match the purpose of the bread. If its going with Chicken soup add rosemary, if its for a braai use sage or thyme ect. I can imagine adding cheese would be good too, i haven't actually done that so let me know if it works! But i mean its cheese, everything is better with cheese.

3. Add beer, to form a soft sticky dough.

4. Pour the dough into bread pan. Melt the butter and pour it over the top. Let the bread stand while the oven warms up, this gives it a chance to raise a little.

5. Bake for 35mins.
Serve warm! The melted butter over the top is what makes this bread amazing.
