Braised steak in red wine

500 g of Good quality braising steak,
1 medium onion,
250ml of beef stock (OXO will do fine),
1/2 bottle of red wine (what ever you can afford but the fuller body the better the flavour)
2 carrots sliced,
100g plain flour,
Salt & pepper,
Mixed herbs.

Prep. Time → 15 min

Cook Time → 150 min

1. Mix the salt, pepper, and mixed herbs with the Flour.
cut the steak into strips about 30mm wide.
Put the steak into the flour mix and cover both sides. place in an oven proof dish with a lid.
slice the carrots and onion place in dish with steak.
pour in 1/2 bottle of Red wine and the stock.
Cover with the lid and place in an oven @ 170 C for around 2 & 1/2 hours or unitl the meat goes soft and tender (you should not need a knife to cut the meat).
Stir every 1/2 hour.
Server with what you like Roast Potatoes, Chips , Mash
& enjoy
