Bulgar meat sauce and ricotta pizza
Recipe by1lb ground beef
6oz tomato paste
1/3c marinara sauce
1/2c chicken broth
1/2c bulgar wheat
Salt and pepper to taste
Ricotta cheese
Shredded mozzarella cheese
1 whole wheat pizza dough
Prep. Time → 35 min
Cook Time → 20 min
1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat
2. Remove grease
3. Add paste, marinara, broth, and bulgar wheat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally
4. After 20 minutes check to see if bulgar wheat is still crunchy, if so, continue to simmer and add broth if it gets too dry
5. Add salt and pepper to taste
6. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (or according to instructions for cooking dough
7. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and spread out dough
8. Spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by dollops of ricotta and mozzarella cheese
9. Cook for 20 minutes or until dough is cooked through and ricotta is golden brown
10. Cut and serve
