Chilli + cheese buns!
Recipe by300g Strong Bread Flour
1 Sachet of Yeast
25g Margarine
1 tsp Salt
15g Sugar
1 tsp Curry Powder
15g Parmesan Cheese
125ml Luke Warm Water
1 Egg
For the topping;
15g Butter
120g of Grated Cheese (any type, i personally use cheddar and red leicester)
2 Chillis, chopped
Coriander
Prep. Time → 40 min
Cook Time → 20-30 min
1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
2. Mix together the dry ingredients; flour, yeast, salt, sugar, curry powder and parmesan cheese.
3. Add the egg and stir in.
4. Gradually add the water. You might not need it all, but you might need more.
5. When the dough is all stuck together, knead on a floured surface. When you've done this, leave to prove in a warm area, e.g on top of a warm oven. In the mean time, if you haven't already, prepare the topping. Grate the cheese, and chop the chilli's.
6. After leaving to prove for 20 minutes, take out and briefly knead again.
7. Then roll into an oblong shape.
8. You now need to add butter to the top of the dough. You can either melt the butter in a pan and put the melted butter on. Personally, I just spread it on, like you would toast. The flavour is nicer!
9. Sprinkle the cheese and chilli over.
10. Sprinkle over the coriander.
11. Now, roll up the dough. Start at the bottom and roll upwards.
12. When it is all rolled up, mark with 2cm indents. Then cut these, one at a time.
13. As you cut these, arrange in a flower style pattern on the tray. Start with one in the middle and work around. You can glaze with egg, if you like.
14. Cook for 20 minutes in your pre-heated oven, or until golden brown. Voila!
(please note, all these images are not original so they are aren't exactly right. the only picture of my own is the final product! :) )
