Chocolate orange cake
Recipe by115g self-raising flour
115g butter, at room temperature
115g caster sugar
45g cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 orange
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Prep. Time → 15 min
Cook Time → 20 min
1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C / gas mark 4. .
2. 2. Place all the ingredients (except the orange) into a bowl.
3. 3. Whisk until smooth.
4. 4. Grate the orange into the mixture (as soon as a certain part of the orange turns white grate in a different place).
5. 5. Once grated chop your orange in half and squeeze out all the juice (if you want a mild flavouring only squeeze a bit of juice).
6. 6. Whisk mixture again until no orange zest can be spotted.
7. 7. Grease a baking tin (I reccomend 7 inch, 18cm)
8. 8. Place in the oven for 15 - 25 mins.
9. 9. When baked place on a cooling rack until cooled.
10. 10. Ice and decorate (optional)
11. 10. VOILA! You have your chocolate orange cake.
