Crispy Breaded Tilapia with Tartar Sauce of Elaine Crawford Daguanno - Recipefy

Tartar Sauce
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp. minced red onion
2 tbsp sweet relish
2 tbsp minced fresh parsley
1 tbsp capers, drained, rinsed & chopped
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Breading for Tilapia
1/3 cup all purpose flour
2 large eggs
2 cups breadcrumbs
salt and fresh ground pepper
4 skinless tilapia fillets (4 oz. each)
Vegetable oil for frying pan
1 lg lemon cut into wedges

Prep. Time → 10 min

Cook Time → 15 min

1. 1. Preheat oven to 200F. Line baking sheet with paper towel.
2. In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, red onion, relish, parsley, capers and lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate.
3. For breading, put flour in first shallow dish, then beat eggs lightly in the second dish. Put the breadcrumbs in third dish. Season tilapia with salt & pepper. With each fillet dip in flour then egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
4. Pour 1/4 oil into a deep 10-12" skillet. Heat over med. heat until hot but not smoking. Cook 2 fillets at a time until they are crisp and browned, 2-3 min each side. Transfer to a baking sheet, sprinkle with salt and keep warm in oven while you cook remaining two fillets.
