Date loaf
Recipe by1 cup dates
1/2 cup brown sugar
Tablespoon butter
Teaspoon baking powder
200 ml boiling water
3/4 cup plain flour
3/4 cup SR flour
1 egg
Pinch of salt
Prep. Time → 10 min
Cook Time → 45 min
1. 1. Chop dates. Place dates, sugar, butter, baking soda in bowl. Pour boiling water over and stand until almost cold. About 5 minutes.
2. Add beaten egg.
3. Add dry ingredients gradually. Mix well.
4. Pour into greased and floured bar tin and bake at 180 degrees (slow to moderate over) for 40-45 minutes
