Diane's fruit cake

Ingredients
Cake
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup fruit cocktail
pinch of salt
Topping
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
Cook Time → 40 min

Directions
1. Mix all cake ingredients together place in baking dish.
Sprinkle on topping.
If using a metal pan, bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
If using a glass pan, bake at 325 for 40 minutes.
