Fig tart in a hazelnut crust

Crust
1 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup hazelnuts
4 tbsp melted butter
Filling
1/4 cup milk
1 3/4 cup mascarpone cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon zest
Topping
4 fresh figs, thinly sliced
4 star anise (optional)
Drizzle of honey (optional)
1. Grind hazelnuts to a fine meal. Add in pre-ground almonds and pulse to combine. Pour in butter and stir until the dough sticks together, adding more butter if necessary.
2. Put the dough in a tart pan with a removable base. Gently press dough edges to form a crust. Put the crust in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes until golden brown and firm.
3. Add mascarpone to a bowl and grate 1 tbsp of lemon zest on top. Pour in milk, vanilla, cinnamon, honey. Stir to combine.
4. Remove crust from the oven and let cool for 15 minutes.
5. FInely slice the figs. Gently spread the mascarpone mix in the crust. Arrange the figs on top. Add star anise on top of a few figs. Drizzle with honey.
6. Cook in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes, or until the figs are juicy and the cream golden. Remove and let cool.
