Ground turkey lettuce wraps
Recipe byHere are the ingredients you'll need
10 lettuce leaves washed and dried
1 pound of ground turkey
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup of hoisin sauce
2 teaspoons fresh chopped ginger
3 cups Bean Sprouts
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped
2 teaspoons Asian (dark) sesame oil
1 tablespoon of Asian chili pepper sauce (siracha)
Prep. Time → 15 min
Cook Time → 10 min
1. First, lightly rinse the whole lettuce leaves and pat dry. Set aside.
2. In a medium skillet over high heat, add 1 tablespoon of peanut or vegetable oil, the ground turkey,and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir often until brown. Drain off the grease and place the cooked turkey in a bowl.
3. Now add the onion to the skillet and stir frequently. Then add the garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, ginger, vinegar,and chili pepper sauce.
4. Now stir in the chopped water chestnuts,the green onions, and the sesame oil. Now add back the cooked turkey and bean sprouts.
5. Continue cooking until the onions just begin to wilt, about 2 minutes.
