Hamburger casserole
Recipe by1lb ground beef
1/2c bulgur wheat
3 cloves garlic, minced
16oz tomato sauce
1/2c water
Salt and pepper to taste
16oz pasta
1c cottage cheese
1c sour cream
Shredded cheddar cheese
Prep. Time → 40 min
Cook Time → 40 min
1. Coat a 9x13" baking dish with nonstick spray
2. Put a large pot of salted water on to boil
3. Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high until no longer pink
4. Reduce heat to medium-low and add bulgur and garlic
5. Cook for 7 minutes
6. Add tomato sauce and water and stir to combine
7. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring periodically
8. Season with salt and pepper
9. Meanwhile, cook noodles until al dente and drain
10. Drizzle with olive oil to prevent sticking
mix cottage cheese and sour cream in a bowl until combines
11. Season with salt and pepper
12. Layer half the noodles in the bottom of the prepared baking dish
13. Top with half the cottage cheese mixtures and then with teh meat mixture
14. Repeat layering process
15. Sprinkle top with cheddar cheese
16. Cover and refrigerate overnight (preferably) or continue on
17. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
18. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until bubbly
19. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving
