My all time favorite lasagna
Recipe byPrepare a double batch of my All time favorite spaghetti sauce (recipe found in my cookbook)
9 cooked lasagna noodles (prepare according to package directions)
1 beaten egg
1 15 oz. container Ricotta cheese or 2 cups cream-style Cottage cheese
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese or Romano cheese
500 g. grated Mozzarella cheese
1. Combine egg, ricotta or cottage cheese and 1/3 cup Parmesan or Romano Cheese (reserve 1/3 cup to sprinkle on top)
2. Layer 3 noodles on bottom of large rectangular baking disk
3. Spread 1/3 of filling over noodles
4. Top with tomato sauce and approx. 1/3 of the Mozzarella cheese (be sure to keep enough to sprinkle on top as final layer)
5. Repeat layers
6. Sprinkle remaining Mozzarella and Parmesan/Romano cheese on top
7. Bake in 375 degree oven for 30-35 minutes or until heated through
8. Let stand at least 10 minutes before serving.
9. (Make ahead directions - prepare as above bu, except, after assembling, cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Bake, covered, in a 375 degree oven for 40 minutes. Uncover, bake about 20 minutes more or until hot. Let stand 10 minutes before serving)
