My all time favorite spagetti sauce
Recipe by
2 tbsp. olive oil
12 ounces Italian Sausage (with casing removed)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves Garlic, minced
4 cups chopped, peeled tomato (6 large) or two 14 1/2 oz. cans diced tomato
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1/3 cup water
2 tbsp. snipped fresh parsley
1 tbsp snipped fresh basil or 1 tsp. dried basil
1 tbsp. snipped fresh oregano or 1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1. In a skillet saute olive oil, sausage, onion, and garlic until meat is broken down and browned
2. Transfer to large pot
3. Stir in tomato, tomato paste, water, parsley, basil, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper.
4. Bring to boiling;reduce heat.
5. Cover and simmer 30 minutes
6. Uncover and simmer for 10-15 minutes more or to desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
