Open-sesame savory chicken - pressure cooker
Recipe by1.5lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
2 Tbs canola oil
2 tsp sugar
1 Tbs sesame oil
1/4c hoisin sauce
1.5c apple cider
1c sliced ripe star fruits
1.5c pitted prunes
crushed red pepper flakes to taste
salt and pepper to taste
Prep. Time → 10 min
Cook Time → 20 min
1. Trim any remaining fat from chicken
2. In large pressure cooker, heat oil over medium-high heat
3. Add chicken and cook until browned, about 7 minutes and remove
4. Meanwhile, combine sugar, sesame oil, and hoisin sauce in a bowl
5. Mix well and add to chicken when done browning
6. Stir to blend together
7. Add cider, star fruit, prunes, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to chicken mixture
8. Close lid, bring to high pressure
9. Lower heat and cook for 10 minutes
10. Use quick release or cold release method
