3 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 pound ground sirloin
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 green leaf lettuce leaves
4 hamburger buns
4 (1/4-inch-thick) slices red onion
8 (1/4-inch-thick) slices tomato
1/2 ripe peeled avocado, cut into 1/8-inch-thick slices
8 bread-and-butter pickle chips

1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl.

2. Preheat your grill.

3. Divide beef into 4 equal portions and shape each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty.

4. Press a nickel-sized indentation in the center of each patty; sprinkle patties evenly with salt and pepper.

5. Put patties on the grill and cook for approximately 3 min per side (you still need to melt the cheese so give yourself some leeway).

6. Top each patty with 1 cheese slice; cook 2 minutes or until cheese melts and patties are desired degree of doneness.

7. Assemble the burgers using the lettus, red onion, tomato, avocado, pickle chips, and sauce made in step 1.
