Seared tuna with breadcrumbs
Recipe by
Tuna steaks
Slices of bread
salt
pepper
egg
lime
oil for frying
1. Suggestion: This makes a rich dish, especially with caramelized onion. If you choose to do onion, start them first. They will take a very long time.
2. Thaw the tuna if it is frozen and cut the tuna steaks as thick as you like them.
3. Rub the tuna with lime on both sides and leave for at least 1/2 hour.
4. Crack your egg into a bowl and beat well. Add bits of water until the egg is thinned a tiny bit and isn't so gooey
5. Toast your bread well, and then grind them into fine breadcrumbs
6. Add pepper and salt to the breadcrumbs
7. Heat up the oil in a pan
8. Soak up extra water off the tuna steaks with a clean cloth
9. Cook only one at a time! Dip the steak into the egg, then into the breadcrumbs
10. Immediately put the steak into the hot oil, but only very briefly, maybe 7 to 10 seconds maximum.
11. Turn the steak. The breadcrumbs should be a light brown.
12. Once the second side is done, serve immediately.
13. Repeat for all the rest of the tuna steaks
