Spicy Prawn of Kitchen Snippets - Recipefy

Prawn - 30 nos (cleaned )
Mustard seeds-1/4 tspn
Small Onion-15 (chopped finely )
Ginger- 1tblspn chopped
Garlic-1 tblspn chopped
Green chillies-2 chopped
Dry Red Chilli-3-4
Curry leaves
Kodumpuli-2 pieces
Red chilli powder-2 tspn
Coriander powder-1 tspn
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Fennel/perumjeerakam-1/2 tspn
Thin coconut milk-1/2 cup
Thick coconut milk-1/4 cup
Salt
Oil

For marination

Red Chilli powder-1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder-1/4 tspn
Salt

1. Marinate prawns with 1/2 tspn red chiili powder and 1/4 tspn turmeric powder and keep aside.

2. Soak kudumpuli in 1/4 cup of hot water for 10 mints

3. Heat oil in pan and splutter mustard seeds. Then add dry red chilli and saute well.

4. Add chopped small onion and saute till they turn golden brown.
Add ginger, garlic , green chillies and curry leaves and saute till the raw smell goes.

5. Add red chilli powder.turmeric powder,coriander powder saute till the oil starts appearing.
Then add kodumpuli along with water used for soaking and prawns.Mix well and add perunjeerakam/ fennel.

6. Add thin coconut milk, sprinkle enough salt.Cover and cook in medium flame for 10 mints or till the prawns are done.

7. Finally add thick coconut milk ,Mix well and remove from stove.
Serve hot with rice/puttu

8. Notes; The gravy shouldn't be too watery.So dont add water while cooking prawns.Coconut milk itself is enough.
Then about the spice level,adjust it accordingly.
