Tangy chocolate chip cookies
Recipe by1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp hot water
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Prep. Time → 20 min
Cook Time → 10 min
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Cut butter stick into 5-6 equal sized pieces and partially melt on low heat on stove.
3. In medium bowl cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt.
4. In separate bowl combine flour, allspice, cinnamon, and cream of tartar. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients, then stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
5. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned. Remove from baking pan and place on baker racks until cooled.
