Unauthentic meat pie
Recipe by1 pre-made pie crust
1 1/2 cup potatoes, chopped
1 1/2 lb ground pork (or beef, or half beef/half pork)
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 yellow onions, chopped
1 cup carrot, chopped
Peas, celery, other vegetables that seem like a good idea to you
A bunch of ketchup
1/2 tsp celery seed
2 bay leaves
black pepper
Prep. Time → 30 min
Cook Time → 60 min
1. Inspired by a real recipe, but would make a French Canadian pretty sad if you served it to them
2. Boil the potatoes until soft
Mash half of the potatoes and don't mash the other half
In a skillet, cook the meat and vegetables
Stir all ingredients together in the skillet
Put all ingredients in a pie crust
Bake 400 F for about 50 minutes (until golden brown)
3. You can also prep this and then freeze it before the baking step
If you do this, either thaw it beforehand or bake it at 350 for a while with foil on top and then bake at full temp with the foil off until it's hot in the middle. I am never quite sure how long to do this!
