1. The breakfast menu of uppuma and cups of steaming hot filter coffee is a common favourite in most South Indian homes.It is nutritious, tasty and very easy to make at home. It is a traditional South Indian breakfast dish made from Rava. Rava is also called as suji in hindi and cream of wheat in English. Uppuma is usually served with coconut Chutney, Lemon Slices or Lemon pickle.It can also be had plain. One easily gets Uppuma in all restaurants in South India including Maharashtra. Uppuma is not only delicious but also a healthy breakfast option. Making uppuma does not take much time and can be done in 15-20 minutes.
First of all heat oil in a pan and do the seasoning. Then, add chilies, ginger and onion and fry it till translucent. Add vegetables and roast for 2-3 min. To that add salt and water and when it boils add Surabhi Rava gradually. Surabhi Rava is the Best Rava for Upma to make this South Indian dish more tasty. It has been the commonly used brand in many houses of south India for Uppuma and other dishes . Keep stirring and take care as not to form lumps. Simmer the stove, cover and let it cook for 5 minutes and Serve hot with Chuttney.
