Vanilla panna cotta
Recipe by250ml semi skinned milk
250ml double cream
3 gelatin leaves
1 vanilla pod, split lenghways, seeds scraped out. (these can be pretty pricey sometimes, so if you can't afford them, add a few drops of vanilla essence instead)
25g sugar
25ml milk for gelatin to soak in.
Prep. Time → 15 min
Cook Time → 10 min
1. Soak the gelatin leaves in the milk until soft.
2. Add the rest of the milk, double cream, vanilla pod, seeds and sugar into a pan and bring to a simmer. Remove the vanilla pod.
3. Remove the gelatin sheets from the milk and shake out the excess liquid. Add to the pan and take off the heat. Stir until the gelatin has dissolved.
4. Pour into a jelly mould or four ramekins and allow to cool to room temperature. Add to the fridge and leave to set for atleast an hour, but I would recommend making this atleast 4 hours in advance to give you as much time as possible to set.
5. Serve with a raspberry or strawberry coulais.
