500g lean steak mince
Small onion finely chopped
1 egg
Pinch salt
Tablespoon breadcrumbs
Half teaspoon curry powder ( see my recipe on this site)
Oil for frying
Breadcrumbs for coating
Tin chopped tomatoes
Spoonful gravy powder
Teaspoon mango chutney

1. Fry the onions in the oil. Once beginning to colour remove the pan from the heat and remove the onions from the oil and allow to cool.
Add the cooled chopped onion to the mince with the breadcrumbs, curry powder, salt and egg. Thoroughly mix.
Take a golf ball sized handful of the mixture and pat into a flattened ball.
Drop each ball into breadcrumbs and coat all over.
Once all the mince has been formed into balls add them to the heated pan with a little oil. Fry over a low heat in a covered frying pan. You should be able to get all the steaks in a large pan.
Once the frying side is coloured, turn over each steak and fry the other side.
Once cooked remove to a headed dish and add the chopped tomatoes mixed with the gravy powder and the mango chutney to the still hot frying pan to deglaze the pan.
Bring back the the boil and pour over the steaks.
Serve with a green vegetable and mashed potatoes.
