Mutta/Egg Pollichathu de Kitchen Snippets - Recipefy

Egg-3 boiled and deshelled
Onion-2 big sliced/chopped
Ginger-1 small piece crushed
Garlic-5 podes crushed
Green chilli-1 or 2 sliced
Tomato-1 big chopped
Red chilli powder-1 1/2 tspn
Coriander powder-1 tspn
Turmeric powder-1/4 tspn
Pepper powder-1/2 to /34 tspn( as per your taste )
Curry leaves
Oil
Salt
+
Banana leaf-3 pieces

T. Preparacion → 10 min

T. Cocinado → 15 min

1. Heat oil in a pan.Add onion slices,ginger,garlic and green chillies.Now Saute them till they turn golden brown.
Add tomato and let them become soft and mushy.Now add the spice powders.Saute well till you get a nice roasted smell.
Now add curry leaves and enough salt.Add 1/4 cup water.Cook till the water dry up and you get a dry gravy.Switch off the flame.

2. Then take one piece of banana leaf and place it over fire(flame ).Move it slowly and let the banana leaf is gets heated
all over(leaf will get pale now ) .This will avoid breaking of banana leaf while wrapping.

3. Then put some masala on one piece of banana leaf. Cut one egg into two halfs and place both the halves on top of the masala.
Then cover the egg with some more masala.Sprinkle curry leaves on top.Then wrap the banana leaf and make a packet.You can tie it with
banana fibers also.Repeat the same with all the masala and egg

4. Sprinkle little oil in a heavy bottom pan with tight lid.Then place the egg packets in the pan.Cover with tight
lid .Keep in low flame.After some time flip over and cover again.Keep them like this till greenish colour of
banana leaves starts to change.remove from fire.Unwrap the banana leaves and enjoy the yummy egg/mutta pollichathu.
