Nasi goreng
Receta por2 cloves garlic crushed
2 red onions finely chopped
4 chicken breasts thinly sliced then chopped
3 tsps Sambal or chilli/shrimp paste (Sambal recipe seperate - alternatively you could use chilli's and fish sauce)
4 eggs
1 mug of basmati rice (see rice cooking recipe)
5 spring onions finely chopped
2 tbsp ish (to taste) Kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) or dark soy and brown sugar (roughly 1 tbsp soy and 1tsp sugar ish)
2 tbsp veg oil
1 tsp tamarind paste
1 tsp sesame oil
1 carrot grated
optional cashew nuts, fresh coriander/basil
T. Preparacion → 20 min
T. Cocinado → 20 min
1. Cook the rice and put on a plate to cool, store in the fridge for 2 hours or overnight
2. Heat the veg oil in a wok
3. Add the garlic and gently fry for one minute (do not brown it)
4. Add the onion and fry gently for a few minutes
5. Add the Sambal/chilli paste and tamarind paste and stir in
6. Add the chicken and fry until no longer pink
7. Add the carrot and stir in the rice, breaking down with the back of the spoon
8. Add the spring onions and mix thoroughly
9. Add the Kecap Manis or soy sauce/brown sugar to taste
10. Heat the sesame oil in a small frying pan and create a one egg omelette for each egg, or if a larger frying pan then beat the four eggs and make two omelettes/pancakes.
11. Turn out the omelette, roll and slice thinly
12. Press the rice into a bowl and turn out onto a plate
13. Sprinkle with the sliced omelette and optionally cashew nuts/fresh coriander/basil
