Pumpkin bran muffins

1 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup wheat bran
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 cup puried pumpkin
2 eggs
2/3 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup canola oil
Chopped nuts, optional
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line cupcake tin with paper liners or spray with cooking spray.
2. Whisk together the flour, bran, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, soda and salt in a large bowl.
3. In separate bowl, whisk the pumpkin, eggs, buttermilk and oil.
4. Fold pumpkin mixture into flour mixture until combined. Divide the batter among the cups and top with chopped nuts.
5. Bake 20-30 minutes.
