Reuben sandwich
Receta por8 slices Rye Bread
1/2 pound corned beef (more if you like overstuffed sandwiches)
4 slices Swiss cheese
2 cups Sauerkraut, squeezed of excess liquid and optionally rinsed
Thousand Island or Russian Dressing
Butter or margarine
T. Preparacion → 10 min

1. Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat, as you would for a grilled cheese sandwich.
2. Butter one side of the bread and place it buttered side down on a cutting board. Spread a thin layer of dressing on the bread.
3. Cut a cheese slice in half and arrange both pieces on the slice of bread.
4. Place 1/4 of the beef on top of the cheese, and then place 1/4 of the sauerkraut (about 1/2 cup) on top of that.
5. Drizzle some dressing on top of the sauerkraut and spread a thin layer on the second piece of bread. Top the sandwich with the second slice of bread, dressing side down.
6. Butter the bread slice facing up.
7. Repeat for 3 more sandwiches (or put them all together at once, assembly line style).
8. Cook on one side until golden brown, gently pressing down with a spatula for a more compact sandwich that's easier to flip.
9. Cook until golden on the other side and serve.
