Spaghetti and meat sauce
Receta por2 lbs ground beef
1 lb hot Italian sausage
1 large onion, diced
5 large cloves garlic, minced
1 lb+ mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup spaghetti seasoning
28 oz can diced tomatoes
65 oz Traditional Ragu sauce
1/4 cup red wine (a Cabernet is good)
1 green pepper, finely diced
1 red pepper, finely diced
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
Cajun seasoning to taste
Fresh ground pepper
1. In a very large stock pot, brown beef and sausage, removing sausage from casings.
2. Drain fat. Add in onion, garlic and seasoning, sauté for a few minutes. Add mushrooms, saute until they cook down.
3. Add tomatoes and sauce, shake the wine in the sauce jar to get it all out, then add peppers. Let simmer for 30 minutes.
4. Add sugar and lemon juice. Taste, and adjust salt if needed.
5. Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles.
6. (This recipe makes a lot! Have an army to feed, or your freezer containers ready! I make my own Cajun seasoning omitting the salt so that I can use lots without over salting. Then I add salt to taste.)
