Spicy italian meat sauce

2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
6 large mushrooms, sliced, (optional)
1 carrot, peeled and diced
1 pound ground beef
1 pound Italian sausage, or 2 pounds beef
1 28-ounce can tomatoes
1 15-ounce can tomato paste
1 15-ounce can water
3 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons oregano
2 Tablespoons basil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

T. Cocinado → 60 min

1. Remove sausage from casings.
Saute first 8 ingredients until meat is browned. Drain.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Serve over pasta.
