Apple pie
Ricetta di2 – 9 “ deep dish pie crust 6 cups granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced thinly 1 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup flour 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, optional 1/8 tsp. salt
1. Preheat oven to 425. Mix dry ingredients in a large plastic bag, add apples and mix well. Pour contents of bag into one pie crust. Dot mixture with butter. Cover with other pie crust and seal edges by pressing the two crust edges together. Wrap foil around pie so about 2 to 3 inches sticks up above pie. Bake for 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake an additional 10 to 20 minutes until golden. Any kind of apples may be used. use less sugar for sweeter apples. (3/4 cup of sugar with red delicious) 4 large apples = 6 cups
