Cherry scones
Ricetta di1 cup each whole wheat and regular flour 1 Tbsp. sugar 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 cup butter 1 egg, beaten 1/2 cup milk 11 oz. maraschino cherries, drained
1. Combine flours, sugar, baking powder and salt; mix well. Cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add egg and milk to dry mixture; mix until dough forms. Add cherries; knead dough on floured surface until smooth and cherries are evenly distributed. Pat into 8” round shape, place on baking sheet and evenly score into 8 wedge shape segments. Bake at 425 for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately remove from pan and cut into 8 wedges.
