8 oz butter
5 oz caster sugar
2 oz dark brown sugar
4 eggs
15 oz plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
8 fl oz milk
8-12 oz chocolate chips

1. 1. Preheat the oven to 190*C/375*F/gas 5. Prepare 20 muffin cases in muffin tins.

2. 2. With an electric mixer, cream the butter until soft. Add both sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time.

3. 3. Sift together the flour and baking powder. Fold into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.

4. 4. Add the chocolate chips. Mix together.

5. 5. Divide the mixture between the muffin cases.

6. 6. Bake until lightly coloured, about 25 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before turning out.
